About

PRM is a non-profit organization chartered in 1997 to preserve buildings, sites, and properties of historical or architectural importance within the city of Rocky Mount and Nash and Edgecombe Counties.

A primary focus of the organization is to acquire options on at-risk properties that might otherwise be destined for ruin, abandonment, or dissolution and to market them through preservation publications.

PRM has obtained options on several residences in our historic districts and advertised them through statewide preservation channels, resulting in their sale to preservation-minded individuals. When options are not available, PRM has also purchased and buildings, stabilized them, and made them available for purchase.

A great success was when PRM, in conjunction with Downtown Renaissance, purchased 152-154 SW Main Street (the former Rosenbloom building). We repaired the roof, restored the second-floor windows, and were able to sell the building with preservation covenants.
